The Coe Room

The COE ROOM is a smaller but terrific room with a double bed. Very popular with guests, its strong features are three sides of windows that allow flowing sunlight to bathe the room. Overlooking Beard’s Creek, this smaller room has a compactness with amenities that larger rooms often cannot provide. An efficient storage area for clothes and packages (including your suitcases) is found in one corner. A cabinet encloses drawers for clothes and holds a flat panel television, while a stuffed, comfortable reading chair offers that solution and a small writing desk offers views of our fields and woods. A private bath included often makes this the first choice for guests visiting UNH. Air Conditioned in summer.

The Ninde Room

The Ninde room is our largest guest bedroom, the room measures 18 by 20 feet. With real Oriental rugs on the floor, the room is decorated with scenes of local area and Portsmouth landscapes. Outfitted with two beds, one is a Twin for single guests, and the larger, custom-made Queen-size Four Poster has a custom, inner-spring mattress (translate expensive) that is 9 inches longer than a standard Queen. Perhaps the only truly long bed here in Durham, tall people can finally get a good night’s sleep locally.

Writing table and reading chairs are present; the room has a television in a cabinet. Air conditioned in summer, the Private bath boasts one of the largest showers in Durham. This room is truly a comfort for those who simply do not do well or fit into a standard, small hotel room. And it is the perfect accommodation for visiting parents with one youngster touring UNH.
